Please excuse the shortened audio for this week's sermon as we continue to deal with recording and technical difficulties. Please enjoy this preview and feel free to listen to past sermons and look forward to future ones!
Highlights from the rest of the sermon not heard on the audio:
*We think we need NO ONE, but Scripture gives us a different picture (Romans 12.9-10; Galatians 6.1-2; James 5.19-20)
*Community is predicated on knowing others and being KNOWN by others.
*When we choose community little by little others chip away at us and chisel away the rough edges until we become the 'me' God had made us to be.
*However, community doesn't happen on a Sunday morning alone. In fact the biggest part of community happens out and about. At best we have 10 hours at church on a Sunday morning in a given month, but we spend the other 5,030 outside the walls of the church.
*Sunday morning is the start, kind of like putting a meal or a soup into a crock pot. But the other 6 days of the week are what allows everything to 'mesh' together. Those 6 days then feed back into our Sunday morning gathering.
*Community matters because time matters, and time matters because matters of time are matters of eternity. (Hebrews 3.12-13)
*It's game time and we can't simply sit and spectate, we have to press into community and participate.
